As the senior member of the SOS Hand and Wrist Center team and a former SUNY Health Science Center professor , Dr. Short brings more than 34 years of practical experience to the SOS Hand and Wrist Center Team. After graduating from Cornell in 1971, Dr. Short moved on to medical school at SUNY Health Science Center, followed by a General Surgery Internship at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in 1975. His Surgical Orthopaedic Residency was completed back here at the SUNY Health Science Center in 1980.
Dr. Short continued his education with a Hand Fellowship at Yale University and the University of Connecticut from 1980-1981. Dr. Short has received numerous awards and honors, including a Patient’s Choice Award in 2009. Most recently, Dr. Short received a 5-star rating by patients at HealthGrades.com — making him the only 5-star hand specialist in the Syracuse area!
